Our Story

The a2 Milk Company was founded in New Zealand in 2000 by scientist Dr. Corrie McLachlan and his business partner, Howard Paterson.
Built on the knowledge that not all milk is the same, our founders recognised the potential for a2 Milk® to help more consumers enjoy the nutritional goodness of dairy.

The a2 Milk Company is a global leader in beta-casein protein science.
For over 25 years, we have worked alongside scientists from around the world to pioneer the scientific understanding of the unique digestive benefits and potential other benefits of A1 protein free milk.

The a2 Milk Company is fuelled by its purpose to pioneer the future of dairy for good.
As the original pioneers and creators of the A1 protein free milk category, we don't produce, use, or sell ordinary dairy milk - all of the milk used in our products is our a2 Milk®.
Because for us, A1 protein free milk isn’t just a product line, it is the heart of everything we do.
